Dichen Lachman has confirmed that she will be appearing as DC Comics villain Roulette in Season 2 of “Supergirl.”
In a video clip she shared on Instagram, Lachman thanked her fans for all the excitement surrounding her casting and talked a little bit about her experience in filming the CW series.
“I just want to thank everybody for all the excitement about me appearing on ‘Supergirl’ as Roulette,” the 34-year-old Nepali-born Australian actress said. “The cast and crew are working so hard and there are such incredible people. I’m really excited to be on the show, and I can’t wait for you to see it.”
On Twitter, Lachman revealed why joining the cast of “Supergirl” was pretty surreal for her.
“When I was a little girl in Kathmandu I used to daydream about being Supergirl,” she tweeted. “[It’s] one of the few movies we had on VHS. Watched it many times.”
In a follow-up tweet, Lachman added: “‘Supergirl,’ ‘Superman’ and ‘Police Academy’ were the 3 tapes we had and we watched them over and over again when we had electricity.”
In the comics, Roulette, also known as Veronica Sinclair, is an enemy to the Justice Society. She runs a gambling establishment for supervillains where they can bet on different events like captive superhero death-matches. Rather than getting her own hands dirty, she is more of a calculating business-minded character who manipulates others for profit. Created by Geoff Johns and Rags Morales, Roulette first appeared in 2001’s “JSA Secret Files and Origins” #2.
On CW’s “Supergirl,” on the other hand, Roulette runs an underground alien fight club in National City and is eager to get the Girl of Steel in the ring, Comicbook.com reported.
According to TVLine, Lachman — whose recent TV acting credits include “The Last Ship,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “ and “The 100,” among many others — will appear in “Supergirl” Season 2, Episode 4.

“Supergirl” has just added a female villain for Season 2.
YVRShoots spotted “The Last Ship” actress Dichen Lachman on the set of The CW series on Tuesday night, Sept 13. As seen in the photos obtained by the website, the 34-year-old actress was wearing a long red dress with a side split that shows her leg snake tattoo. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, comic book fans are pretty sure that Lachman is playing the DC Comics villain Roulette.
According to YVRShoots, the sequence filmed that night involved Science Police detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) escorting Lachman’s character and meeting up with Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh). The context of the scene is unclear, but it seems that Maggie is turning over Roulette to the D.E.O. (Department of Extra-Terrestrial Operations), where Alex works.

Lachman has yet to confirm her “Supergirl” casting, but a week ago, she took to Instagram to share that she’s back in Vancouver.
“4:30am pick up. Back in #vancouver can’t say for what yet,” Lachman wrote on the social networking site, alongside a mirror selfie.

‘The Last Ship’ season 3 news: Show casts Fernando Chien, Dichen Lachman and Bridget Regan
“The Last Ship” may have reached a satisfying end with its season 2 finale but the series has been officially renewed by TNT for a third season. With the show’s plot growing on a global scale, actors Fernando Chien and Dichen Lachman have been added to the cast.
Lachman will be appearing as a helicopter pilot named Jesse, someone who has lived “off the grid,” hinting that she may be keeping unique secrets of her own when she comes in to meet the crew of the USS Nathan James. Lachman is notable for her appearances in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “The 100,” “Dollhouse” and “Last Resort.”
According to a report from Deadline, Chien will be playing Peng. Peng is speculated to be a pivotal character in the next season as his character is described as the leader of China – what remains of it following the plague, anyway. Peng may be the link that will connect the reborn America and the rest of the world.
While their descriptions have been released, it is unknown at this point if either character is a protagonist or antagonist for the next season. Given how sides quickly turn against each other on the show, it is likely that at least Peng may be presented as a neutral character until something goes awry, causing his group in China to war against the US.
A report from TVLine also confirms that Bridget Regan, of “Agent Carter” fame, has been added to the cast as well. She will be portraying the character Sasha, a former Naval Intelligence Officer who is now based in China, working on behalf of the US government.
Regan is also known for her roles in “The Good Wife,” “Jane the Virgin” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
“The Last Ship” has no current premiere date but it is slated to release sometime in Summer 2016.
